Recount Book Pack
- ISBN13: BK141
Recount is the re-telling of events. These vary from personal recounts, based on direct experience, visits, an observation of an event, factual recounts and the re-telling of an incident as seen in a newspaper or accident report. Recounting is also used in fiction, for example a narrative imagined recount could describe a day in the life of a Victorian child, or events told through the eyes of an animal.
Some of the books deal with the conventions of recount like scene setting, and finish with a closing statement.

The Non-Fiction Genre Book Packs have been put together to give examples of the different writing structures used in information books. Some books do not stick to one writing form throughout and different structures are evident within one text. Each book chosen for these packs contain the most predominant structure but can, of course, be used to show that different writing forms are used within one publication.
